New Mac OS X, old test 新系统，老测试

既然苹果公司在Mac OS X 10.5的矢量库中为Intel的处理器做了大量优化(见加速框架的发布说明)……我来测试下。感谢Lvli007的机器。
Since Apple Inc. is said to make many improves in vecLib of Mac OS X 10.5 to Intel's CPU(SeeAccelerate Release Notes), I'll check it. Thanks to Lvli007 for providing the computer.

看来确实快了，可以同上次10.4.8下的结果对比。看来经过不懈努力，SSE3还是有可能和Altivec拼一拼的。虽然，那个卷积还是那么寒碜。
但是，我意外地得到了Rosetta下conv的结果：
Ahh… better than previous results under 10.4.8. Seems that after a year's work, SSE3 eventually achieved the same order of Altivec, though the convolution's still poor.
But I got score of conv under Rosetta accidentally:

不仅大大超过了模拟器下其他三项的性能，而且，7倍于Intel原生过程的性能……无语了。补充下，可以生成通用二进制程序的convMP.tar.bz2在此。
Not only speed over the other 3 tests under the emulator, but also 7 times faster than the native routeline for Intel… I have nothing to say about. BTW the convMP.tar.bz2 which can build Universal Binary is here.

Senior citizens' life are colorful.
Characters. They are art. They are magic. They are meaningful. They can include philosophy, or show personality.
There're many senior citizens like him in parks. There must be philosophers.

另：说到字，还有另外一件事，方正新出了徐静蕾的字体。流行新时尚？技术上并不是什么难的事情，多年前我曾经跟暗暗说给她做个字体，关键是她至少得写几千个标准字，我也得处理得了那么多……

ps. there's another thing with the Characters, that Founder Corporation has develpoed a Jean Xu's hand-writing font. The fashion? I asked Anan about creating her hand-writing font years before. But there's a key point that she can write out thousands contourable Characters, and also, I can process that much.

新协和则是纯粹由外国人设计的（参考：建立北京协和医学院，洛克菲勒档案中心1990研究报告），但是他们则学习并复兴了中国的传统样式。兼收并蓄是好，避免了很多中国传统样式的问题，却依然古色古香。

The Union Medical College was fully designed by foreigner(Ref: Building Peking Union Medical College, The Rockefeller Archive Center Research Report 1990), but they learned and revived the traditional Chinese style. Eclecticism is good, that they keeped the style and avoided the defects.

清陆军部西侧楼，杰出的工程师沈琪设计。西洋楼式，但仍使用的青砖和传统的砖雕。
西方建筑的引入，从纯粹西方设计西式风格的天主堂，发展到本土设计的陆军部。学来了大体的外观，细节、方法却是自己的。这就是当年我们学习西方的方法。
另：按照赖德霖先生的考证，沈琪更重要的贡献在与交通方面，特别是铁路的营建。

This is the west wing building of the Ministry of Army, Qing Dynasty. The designer is Shen Qi, an outstanding engineer. It is in the victorian style, but builded with traditional blue bricks with carvings.
The western buildings from the church to this, the designer changed from foreigner to Chinese. This is the way we used to study.
P.S. According to Mr. Lai Desen's research Mr. Shen made important progress in transportation, esp. railways.

宣武门天主堂，可以追溯至1605年，是中国的第一批西洋建筑。
利玛窦，汤若望……他们不单单是简单意义上的传教士，是他们把东西方的世界联系在一起。

I've got so many pictures to take a look at the History of Beijing Contemporary Architectures, so I've asked Fionee to help me by asking Professor Zhang Fuhe.
This is the Xuanwumen Catholic Church, which has a story since 1605 in retrospect, as one of the first western style buildings in China.
Matteo Ricci, Adam Schall von Bell …they are more than the Missionaries, they bring our world together.

中国的古代建筑服务于帝王，其规模同建筑之速度完全不成比例，其结果就是大量的砖木结构建筑，很难保存长久。很少有如此由石料砌成的，因为牠是皇家档案馆。
不得不说的话：我们有延续2847年多没有间断的历史记录。每个华人都该为此骄傲，先辈的血液也流淌在我们身上。

The ancient Chinese architecture is for the Emperor, that the building speed is amazing fast compared to the size. As a result, wood is mainly used and the buildings are hard to resist the time. This building made by stone, is different because it stores archives.
It must be said, we have a consecutive, systematic record of history for more than 2 847 years. Every Chinese should be proud of this, and, to know that's a part of us.

倒不如这么说：『古典』也曾『流行』。时光流逝，大浪淘沙，剩下依然『流行』的，即是『古典』。
今天的『流行』或许是明天的『古典』。


Man usually classification the musics into Classical and Pop.
Of course, this Classical isn't the Classical from Mannheim.
What's Classical? What else's Pop?
Classical is somekind classical.
It's better to say: Classical is pop sometime. And then, as time goes by, the lefts which still pop, are Classical.
The Pop today maybe the Classical tomorrow.

This is the New Product posted on BMW International Web Site renctly. Wow! What's that?

不管是什么，我买不起。很可能当我买得起的时候，我也不再年轻。
于是我没敢去BMW Art Car巡展。

What ever it is, it's what I can't afford. Perhaps I'll not young when I can afford that.

苹果电脑的官方网站上打出了又一个概念广告。贾伯斯又有什么新招？
的确，30年了，当年的老对手们都消失了——微型仪器遥测系统倒下了，施乐和国际商用机器不做个人电脑了，康柏则被惠普兼并了。而苹果电脑则仍然在做个人电脑，仍在焕发着生机。
不过话说回来，这可不见得是贾伯斯的歪招在管用。他回归苹果电脑并忙着篡位夺权的1996年，也是苹果电脑巨额亏损濒临倒闭的那一年（实际上，那一年是众多个人电脑厂家的寒冬），苹果原厂的麦金塔还拥有6.6%的市场占有率（参考Business Week的图表），而2006年则为2.8%（IDC）。虽然贾伯斯的iPod拯救了苹果电脑。

There's a new ad on Apple Computer's website. What's the new idea from Jobs?
O, ye it's 30 years. And those old competitors are gone: MITS(Telemetry Systems Micro Instrumentation and Telemetry Systems)'s bankrupt, Xerox and IBM have gone down to other bussiness, Compaq is acquired by Hewlett-Packard. Apple Computer still lives in PC area, and it lives well.
But that's may not because Jobs' wicked idea. When he went back to Apple Computer and was busy getting the throne power, the year 1996, as it seemed going to be bankrupt (also the situation of lots PC manufactors at that time), Apple's Macintosh got 6.6% marketshare (See Business Week's chart). And in the year 2006, IDC reports a 2.8% marketshare, though Jobs' iPod saved Apple Computer.
