过年时收到的短信，大概是祝『唵嘛呢叭咪吽，看不懂没关系，跟着念就行：All money go my home（所有钱都到我家）』。没想到唵嘛呢叭咪吽再音译一下也是句不错的话嘛～可是，原本的梵文ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ的音，其实更像All money pay my home（所有钱都付我房产）吧……
说到音译，其实中文中音译来的梵文，对我们了解古音是很有帮助的。因为梵文是拼音文字，并且梵文的语音变化，由于宗教的缘故而比较小。同样的例子还有日文的和语部分，比如汉朝时『邪马台』读音应该近于やまと（Ya ma to）。
Here is a short message I received this lunar calendar new year: wish u 唵嘛呢叭咪吽, reads: All money go my home. But 唵嘛呢叭咪吽 is actually a transcription of Sanskrit ॐ मणि पद्मे हूँ, which sounds more likely All money pay my home...
To be serious, transcriptions in Chinese is a great help on studying ancient pronunciation. This is because Chinese has a logographic writing system which doesn't keep pronunciation with characters. However, there are many transcriptions from Sanskrit, which is a phonetic writing system and keeps pronunciation seriously for religious reasons. There is also a part of Japanese called wa-go helps, e.g. 邪马台 must be pronounced like やまと/Yamato in Han dynasty, rather than Xiematai/ɕiɛmɑtaɪ now.
宁波。所谓的三江口，乃是余姚江、奉化江汇合成甬江的地方。

上有天堂，下有苏杭。杭州以西湖文明。其实西湖的美不在于一时，『淡妆浓抹总相宜』。大概只有住在周围，闲暇时便穿过梧桐覆盖的街道，来西湖边逛逛，才能领会吧。
Up there is paradise, down here is Su and Hang. Hang(Hangzhou) is famous for its West Lake. One cannot get the art of West Lake in a short time, as it is always alluring weather in plain or gorgeous. Maybe, if I can, walk through those plane-covered streets, rest by the lake side, I will know what paradise looks like.
龙井，最有名的绿茶之一，就是这样炒出来的。靠的是感觉，而非计量。
Longjing, one of the most famous green teas, is produced like this. Everything is based upon masters' feeling, not quantity.
上海也有园林。当然，老城区里更为有特色的是，在石库门之中的新天地。欧洲式的搞法，怪不得外国人都喜欢。当然多数的老建筑还是按中式典型做法——抹消处理。为什么说抹消是中式做法呢？可能是因为我国文物丰富吧，那些不好的，脏、乱、差的，直接铲平了多干净……
There are also gardens in Shanghai. But the most beautiful thing in the ancient city is the Xintiandi built upon Shikumens. This is a typical European urban construction mind, also one of the causes of that many foreigners like living here. Of course the large amount of remains are just cleaned from the map, by the typical Chinese way. Why call this typical Chinese way? Just because we have so many relics, much more than anywhere else in this world. So we have to choose, which one is not worth to keep...
还没完，美哉中华。下一站该是上海。上海我似乎也没什么照片，而且似乎更难表达。这是一种人文上的特殊——如果我没记错的话，这种防盗锁链就是源自上海的吧。
It will be continued, Beautiful China series. Our next stop is Shanghai, where I only have few pictures. And Shanghai is even harder to show: It is something soft, something in culture. If I recall correctly, the cable lock showed here was first introduced in the restaurants of Shanghai.

There're many other places worth to have a look, such as Huqiu. And Confucius temple, which got a lot of Chinese calligraphy tablets.

History is different in the judgment of different people. But no one can deny that Sir Li Hongzhang played a important role in the era of Northern Fleet. This stop is his honour's home town, Hefei.
在合肥诞生的名人，还有包拯。包公也是一位传奇人物。顺带一提，这个包公祠据说是李大人修的。
Bao Zheng is another famous people who was born in Heifei. Aka. Bao Gong, he is an identify of justice in Chinese history and civil. Btw, the temple for Bao Gong showed here is said to be built by Sir Li Hongzhang.
合肥这个城市的规划还是很好的。有森林有水系的环城公园，对市民来说，应该是茶余饭后的绝好去处吧。
The city has been planned very well. A circle of parks with water & wood is built around the city. Isn't this good for the citizen?

Chengshan Cape, the most east point of China's coast. The showing lighthouse and diaphone built by english over hundred years ago are still in use today.

UK set their colony here not only for vocation, but for military. Before them, the Northern Fleet of Qing Dynasty set their base here. Here's also a important battlefield in Sino-Japanese war.

第一站，天津。
First step: Tianjin.
天津保留了不少殖民地时代的西式建筑。和平区的一片通称五大道。起士林在浙江路的总店，算是五大道的一部分吧。虽然吃起来不怎么样，但还对得起价钱。
There're many western style buildings built in colony era in Tianjin. A huge amount in Heping dist. is called Wudadao(5 avenues). The Kiessling Restaurant (main) is there, at Zhejiang Rd. It's hard to rate the food as delicious, but worth to have a dinner there.
对比下表里，更应该花钱改改里面呢。
Inner & outside. Maybe it's better to spend taxes on inner/interior instead.
一个城市，有河就有桥。沿着不远的解放路北上，经过著名的利顺德饭店，就可以抵达著名的解放桥。
Walking along Jiefang Rd., passing famous Astor Hotel, one can reach Jiefang Bridge. Bridges are useful to a city by the river.
胜利女神在微笑。解放桥向西则有和北区的西式建筑群——原意大利租界，近年来又有意识复建的马可波罗广场。
On the west side of Jiefang Bridge, there's the former Italian colony, Marco Polo Square. Mainly it's been restored recent years. So Nike's smiling.

外研社的大楼很漂亮，不过很少有人注意到里面吧？（有阴谋……）里面有台古老的印刷机。话说能不能展示点更老的古董？呃……要不是沈括先生写了句，『毕昇』这个名字就不复存在了呢。而那种陶活字，至到近年才被孙寿岭先生又做出来。相比之下，欧洲人要认真得多，古登堡的机器还在满世界展呢。
The FLTRP building is beautiful, but here is the old printing machine inside(grin). Thanks to Mr. Shen Kuo, the name Bi Sheng never exists without his record. Though, the record method is proved to be feasible recent years by Mr. Sun Shouling. Compared to the european, the copy of Gutenberg's Printing Press is showing around the world, telling everybody its stories.
恭王府算是修缮完毕，对外开放。木头上崭新的油漆和风化的石头，也很有意思呢。门上似乎是五脊六兽……
Prince Gong's Mansion completely opened this summer. Newly painted woods and old stone, another interesting place.
王府花园的门则是西式的石门，仿自圆明园中已毁掉的某门。
The gate to the garden is a stone gate in western style, like the destroyed other in the Old Summer Palace.
三山五园，昔日的皇家园林，规模浩大。慢慢探访，可以看到很多有意思的东西，比如古刹碧云寺里，这座精妙的金刚宝座塔。
An area of royal gardens, the Western Hills. Walking through hills, one can see many wonderful landscapes, such as this diamond throne pagoda in Biyun Temple.
